Public apology (humiliation) • It's hard to believe and even harder to admit I may have made a mistake at the recent Scout quiz night. One question was who was the recently deceased lead actress from 'Green Acres'? The given answer was Zsa Zsa Gabor when it should have been Eva Gabor, as a number of teams argued. Apparently Zsa Zsa nearly had a heart attack when told of Eva' s death, but as the saying goes the rumours of her own death were exaggerated! As the three top teams all answered Eva they were all marked wrong therefore no change to the final result was necessary. I hope the controversy and morning tea arguments continue as any advertising is good advertising and we are expecting a bumper crowd at the next quiz proposed for mid-November. Thankyou to the Bulletin for providing the forum for my public apology (and humiliation). Mark Hays AKA 99 out of 100. Editor's note: No doubt it's also Mark's fault that the other 99 answers were correct. Junk debunk The following is in answer to 'Mad Mail Man, Letters, Ruapehu Bulletin 25 July: # Junk mail I may be. If you don't want this so-called junk mail delivered ring me and it will stop being delivered. As for the cash, yes, I'm happy to take it (as little as it is). Youldon't make money sitting on your butt at home. If you think you can do a better job than myself I' 11 gi ve you the run to do (might even give you a wage at the end of the month). As for out-of-town rag, I've been here 18 bloody years (even if I do wear rags). After been (sic) out deli vering in the snow and rain and wind all you want to do is get home by your fire. So I'm bloody sure I (sic) not putting junk mail in letter boxes as no one in their right mind would read it anyway. Stike Take Up Your Tail Pipe
