Blues on the mountain this weekend
Paul Ubana Jones and Hammond Gamble are touring together during the winter months and will play live at Whakapapa next weekend. (1&2 July) To mark the beginning of winter and the opening of the week-long Montana Winterfest, the two seasoned international folk and blues rock artists will play hot soulful tunes and get down and groove music as part of "The Blue Highways Tour 95". Other Winterfest activities planned at Whakapapa on Saturday are a fancy dress / crazy hat day with prizes for the most radical costume, the Deutz Champagne jazz lunch at Knoll Ridge Chalet and the Streets icecream party night and fireworks display at the Top O' the Bruce at 6pm. On Sunday the children can have fun with face painting and clowns, a snowman
building competition at Hut Flat and Christmas Carol Singing in Happy Valley.
