Turoa opens
Turoa opened for 1995 on Friday with an "excellent response" from skiers and snowboarders. Saturday drew a crowd of about 1500 people taking advantage of excellent skiing on packed powder. The early-season status of the base was an average of 55cm with packed powder on groomed trails. The beginner Teleskis, the Movenpick, the Giant and the High Flyer chairlifts were skiable until Saturday afternoon. Mist and ice closed the field Sunday and Monday.
