Thanks for the memories

• May I, through your paper, thank one and all, old and new, for the great times I've enjoyed while in Ohakune. Nine and a half years ago I stepped off the Aucklandbound train, a young and shy city-ite. Within a short time I was made to feel welcome by a variety of people, school staff and locals alike. Through them I've gone on to meet and enjoy the company of a wide variety of people. This community will always be special to me — I hope you all realise what you have here!. From the swinging through the rafters at The Hobbit, to attending the "Freedom of the Borough" ceremonies I've loved every minute. During my time here, I've met many people who have become important to me — may our friendships continue. Thanks of course to my colleagues (both primary and secondary). I appreciate the support you have given me throughout the years. A special thanks to the parents on two counts: you've produced the children I've had the privilege to teach, and you have supported me in my endeavours. Now I leave here with mixed feelings, nine and a half years older, a little less shy, with a wealth of experiences to tell my grand children, or someone else's. Thanks everyone.
