Ohakune water liner replaced
The Ohakune water reservoir liner was replaced on Wednesday 10 May, as planned, following a leak in the original liner. While the work was carried out the town was supplied via the bypass line with chlorinated' raw water. Some supply problems were experienced, reports the RuapehU District Council, who said they apologise for any inconvenience caused. The replacement comes after a number of leaks had developed, some causing major problems at the water treatment plant site, since it was installed.
