Farming for profit seminars Waimarino

Ravensdown Fertiliser Co-operative are holding a series of "Farming for Profit Seminars" throughout the central North Island, one of which will be held in Raetihi on Wednesday 17 May. An excellent line-up of speakers from AgResearch, Massey University, John Read Agricultural Consultancy and Ravensdown Head Office will cover a range of topics for farmers striving to maximise profits. The topics will cover issues such as strategies for farm intensification, animal breeding, optimising soil fertility and recent devel-

opments within the fertiliser cooperative. "Ravensdown recognises that farm management decisions rely on haying sound information and advice, which ultimately leads to increased profits to the farmer," Stephanie Rollinson (local field officer) said. She also pointed out that it is not often farmers have the opportunity to meet and discuss their farming practices with leaders in the agricultural industry. Stephanie hopes there will be a large turnout from the Waimarino area.
