Waimarino Golf Club tourney this week
Last Saturday a small field were at the Waimarino Course to play in the Saturday Cup qualifying round. The day was sponsored by Raetihi 4 Square. lst C Creedy; 2nd A Condon; 3rd C Heinold. On Sunday Harvey Harris & Nash were the sponsors for the day where the club had a field of 48 Tee off for the Rangiwaea Trophy. The weather was cool but some of the scores in the combined mens and ladies event were anything but. lstLToddandRMunn 1 lup; 2nd T Brown and C Creedy lOup; 3rd M Black and M Sullivan 7up. A 4 ball was held for the remainder of the men who didn't draw lady partners. 1 st R Spry and N Leitz 9up; 2nd D Blackburn and T Geraghty 6up; 3rd M Steel and P Creedy. Next weekend the Waimarino Club will host its annual 72 hole tournaipent with a very large field from all over the North Island expected. The course will be closed for social play all weekend, but if anyone wants to come and watch some very high quality golf, they are welcome.
