Planet's richest man visits

Six very nervous Bruneian soldiers met with their Sultan — reputed to be the wealthiest person on earth — at Waiouru last Wednesday. Waiouru Army Training Group was host to His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Muizzaddin Waddaulah or Brunei, as part of his tour of New Zealand. The six soldiers are cadets on the Waiouru Officer Cadet School course. The commander of Waiouru ATG, Colonel Roger Mortlock, escorted His Majesty on the visit. Colonel Mortlock presented the Sultan with a mere, as a gift from an officer to another officer, and Senior Officer Cadet Sharifuddin - presented him with a taiha (Maori spear) as a gift from one soldier to another. The visit included a demonstrations of the Vanguard Fire Control System for artillery and the Weapons Effects Simulation System.
