Garden Club

The February meeting of the Ohakune Garden Club was held at Lois McQuarrie's where members admired her extensive gardens. The meeting then discussed arrartgements for the dahlia show. Competition results: Dahlia: lst Peggy Frew; 2nd Lorraine Taylor; 3rd Lorraine Taylor. Lily: lst Gail Dickison; 2nd Frances Frew; 3rd Lorraine Taylor. Flower of choice: lst Maureen Warren; 2nd Bea Barnes; 3rd Gail Dickison. Shrubs of choice: lst Peggy Frew; 2nd Lorraine Taylor; 3rd Frances Frew. On a recent Sunday eight club members travelled to W anganui to visit Delightful Dahlias, the dahlia gardens of Roger McDonald . An interesting and informative afternoon was spent listening to Mr McDonald and looking at new release dahlias. Next meeting is tonight, 28 March.
