Memories

• It was pleasing to read the memories of A and W Ashwell of Gisborne, of the Raetihi Cinema. One correction is it was 'Harry' Thompson not Tommy. There was a Tommy Thompson who worked as an operator at Ohakune Junction but I believe this to be in the mid-1940's. My mother still remembers our first 'talkie' to be screened in the Waimarino as 'Dynamite'. I have heard many stories of Harry and his kindness and generosity back in the 30' s and 40' s.

Bruce H

Thompson
