Bob Petroleum?
Here's one from the Marvels of Modern Technology Gone Wrong department: The Bulletin' s newest, flashest word processor includes a (usually) nifty little function whereby a writer can load in "autotext" entries. A code is typed and the full text magically appears. Thus commonly used phrases and names, such as "Mayor Garrick Workman" can be entered just by typing "mgw". Of course it sometimes means codes have to be carefully chosen otherwise some strange stories would arise. Such as the one about "the ferris wheel being set up opposite the Bob Peck station in Clyde Street", or the "accident on the Bob Peck comer in Ohakune". (We're sure Bob would not want to be accused of too much publicity in the lead-up to the mayoral election in October. And he surely should be elected mayor and serve a time before having his moniker attached to land-marks!).
