Ohakune Swimming Club

On Thursday 1 6 February a combined Ohakune/Raetihi swimming night was held at the Ohakune pool. The main aim of the evening was to have a fun competition where some of the younger swimmers could display their skills. About 50 competitors were divided into six teams and they took part in a variety of events, the younger ones swimming a width with a float board and the best swimmers competing in the 25 metres butterfly race. The night was rounded off with prizes for the winning team and ice blocks and lollies for everyone, kindly donated by Skiers Inn. The competition was voted a great success and it is hoped to make it an annual event.
