Abandoned vehicles to be removed

Abandoned vehicles left on the roadsides around the Ruapehu District are to be removed and disposed of, the council has advised. Costs of recovery will be sought from the owners of the vehicles if they can be located. The council said it would prefer that the vehicle owners remove the vehicles themselves, thus saving administration costs to council. The abandoned vehicles include vehicles without current warrant of fitness and registration left on the roadside outside an owner's property.
