Whakapapa park talk
T ongariro National Park ' s summer programme of hikes and trips making the most of the outdoors are known to many, but a less well-known aspect of the programme is the evening talk. This year's Whakapapa Visitor Centre evening talks, starting 8pm, include topics such as The World renowned Taupo Fisheries; Culling Days - Deer Control in the past; Monitoring Active Volcanoes; Climate change and biodiversity; 1945 Ruapehu eruption; The impact of beekeeping on montane ecosystems; endangered plants of the Central Plateau; Climbing New Zealand's peaks; Tongariro National Park, past and future, and alpine moths,
