ITC report

Ruapehu International Training in Communication (ITC) has had a very busy and interesting time this term. Edna McLean instructed the group in the use of the microphone; Brian Thompson from the local radio station spoke on his area of communication; A trip to Taihape proved very worthwhile and there was also a workshop on collecting one's thoughts and giving an impromptu speech, by a husband and wife team from Massey University. The last meeting was a speech competition. Judges were: Gay Fahey, Garrick Workman and Deryck Brown. The winner this year was Keitha Journeaux, second place Margaret Cornwall and third Fey Eves. There were only five entries this year and more members are really needed. This is a very worthwhile club, teaching public speaking and self-confidence. Interested people are invited to come along to a meeting and see for themsel ves what ITC is all about.
