Waiouru Golf

By

Rough

Lffis

The Tuesday Twilight teams competition is hotting up but there is still room for more teams. Come out, bring A.N. Other and register as a team. On Saturday the competition was nett, scores for the day were affected by

the wind (and snow and hail - snail?) but with scores like nett 73, Craige Rudolph and Damon Mitchell, 7 1 , Scotty McLellan (still on tenterhooks) and Murray MacGibbon, 69 and, new member Darryn Thomas it can be seen reasonable golf was played. There were no twos. On Sunday the club had their shootout (all play together, worst score drops out. Tied worst scores chip, worst chip eliminated.) Because there was a smallish field a 2-life system was used and this proved to li ven up the competition. Dave Shaw kept his two li ves until the 16th then proceeded to lose both of them, leaving OC Garry Haughey and Murray MacGibbon to contest the final hole. Both parred but Garry lost to a fair superior chip by winner on the day, Murray MacGibbon. Don't miss The Oasis sponsored 18 hole open on Sunday 27 November.
