Closing. say may have come and gone but golf is still fit and well at the Waimarino Golf Club. Twilight golf has started on a Thursday night tee off between 4.30pm and 6pm. Some excellent sponsorship for these evenings has been arranged details are being finalised this week and will be advertised next week. A teams event will be running over the twilight

season. Each team consists of one senior 0-15 one intermediate 16-20 one junior 21-36 plus a non golfer. Anongolferis someone that has not belonged to a golf club in the past. You do not have to be in a team to play twilight because there are individual prizes each week also. Twilight is an excellent opportunity for people to have an introduction to golf just turn up at the course on Thursday afternoon and you will be welcomed and put into a four to play 9 holes. T wilight got off to a good start last week with 54 people turning up for a round. Some excellent scoring was seen in each division. Seniors lst equal Andrew Whooley and W ayne Marsh on 23 points, 2nd equal Barry Drinkwater and Michael Lloyd on 1 9. In the juniors Jason Whale and Willie Wilson on 23 points, 2nd Daniel .Munn on 21, 3rd equal Ray Spry, and Andrew Murdie 20 points. Ladies Jaqui Williamson on 23 points first, 2nd equal Nancy Winter and Victoria Johns on 1 8 points. In the non golfers Richy Arahanga had an excellent 21 points for lst place, 2nd equal were Dwayne Marsh and Tim Mitchell on 17 points and in 3rd place Karen Hawke 16 points.
