Industry supports summer marketing

"The summer marketing campaign, co-ordinated by the Ruapehu District Council has attracted record participation from tourism operators around the District," said Bruce Rollinson, Council's marketing manager. "A campaign strategy was presented to operators in Taumarunui, National Park and Ohakune to obtain input from potential participants. These meetings provide the necessary interaction with the industry to further refine the details of the campaign," said Mr Rollinson. "As with previous years, the main marketing tool for the campaign will be a brochure detailing visitor activities and attractions within the district and their prices. The production of the summer brochure has been recently frustrated by the bad weather conditions of the past three weeks when a photo-shot was scheduled throughout the district."
