Don Windle on 39 points second Carol Leary, Barry Drinkwater and Trevor Fredrick senior on 38 points 3rd equal. In the juniors John Hansen was first with 43 points, FaithWise41 points, 2nd Fred bright 40 points was 3rd. Thanks to The Powderkeg for its spsonsorship of the day. Last weekend a group of golfers contested the King Country championships at Taumarunui. While it was an excellent weekend socially the golf was nothing to write home about. However there was one or two exceptions. The ladies did very well with-Carol Leary, Eileen Rush and Bernice Frost taking home prizes.

John Purcell was the only man to do any good over the weekend putting together four very consistent rounds. This week sees the finals of the club championships being contested. All the finalists have now been found. If all players, caddies involved would like to bring a plate a shared lunch will be arranged. The draw is as follows: Senior men; James Ennis vs Trevor Fredrick jun 9.00.am, Silver women; Pauline Mowatt vs Carol Leary 9.06 tee off, intermediate men; Andrew Cornwall vs Michael Lloyd 9.12 tee off, Bronze one women ; Eileen Rush vs Bernice Frost 9.18 tee off, junior men; John Purcell vs Graham Lind 9.24 tee off, bronze two women; Pam Mathews vs Margaret Black 10.00 tee off, Pritt trophy; Jaque Williams vs Dale Knapp, Tainui trophy; Nancy Winter vs Loretta Eades 10.30 tee off, improvers men; Richard Mabbott vs Derek Brown 1 .00pm tee off.
