Bowling

Raetihi Women' s Bowling Club had a great start to the season. Robin Scarrow, Pauline Le Noel, Linda Sattler and Diane Martin had the first challenge for the Pluck Cup in Wanganui. They played Castlecliff. The team was A Kemp, E Montgomery, D Baldwin and P Forsyth. The Raetihi girls hadn't had a bowl in their hands all winter but won the game of 2 1 ends by 21-18. The score was 1 8 all with two ends to go. Raetihi got one shot on the twentieth end. On the last end they were two shots down and Linda Sattler picked up the kitty and took it back to the waiting bowls of her team mates to win the last end with two shots.

The next challenge is against St John's Hill from Wanganui and spectators are welcome at the bowling club to support Raetihi 's team. Raetihi 's opening is on Saturday 15 October with a 9.30 start and a Barbeque.
