Kayak Marathon Postponed
The ECNZ Whanganui Descent Kayak Marathon was postponed from Saturday 1 October due to very high river flows from the heavy rain in the catchment areas of the Whanganui River. The race was planned to start at Cherry Grove, Taumarunui and finishing at Whakahoro. Race spokesperson Keith Fraser said the race is postponed until Saturday 8 October by which time the high river flows will hopefully have receded.
