Waiouru golf

By

Rough Lms,

'the occasional reporting of

golf in Waiouru' The Waiouru Golf Club is under-way for its 1994/95 season. Opening Day, held last Saturday was under-patronised but some good early-season form was displayed. Paul Creedy and Chris George shared the 27 Hole Stableford 'Provident Life Trophy' with 60 points each. Cards were cut to decide order of prizes and, believe this, Paul cut a three of diamonds to which Chris cut the 2 ! (Who' s not going to be fought over for sraoko cards?) Paul had a 36-hole win at Waimarino the following day. The first Club Haggle for the season on Saturday was Nett and scores were: Graige Rudolph 64, Chris George 68, Ian Batemen 70 and Merv Rodger 71. Two's were scored by Merv, Ian, Chris and Garry. There is one among the club though who might argue the state of the greens - immediate past president is reputed to have putted six times on one green! Sponsors of the 5th and 1 2th holes were Murray Burt (Waiouru Panel Repairs and Abe Hepi (Oasis Hotel).
