A 36-hole sponsored tournament was held on Sunday. The Club is thankful for the continued support of the Karioi Grain Company in this annual tournament. Some excellent scoring was done in all divisions. The winner of the gross in the ladies was Carol Leary with 170. Nett winner was Jaqui Williamsonwith 137. Jaqui is a new golfer this year. Runner-up was Faith Wise with 142. Winners of the stableford pm were Eileen Rush and Nancy with 38 points. Junior Men's gross winner was Silver Burling with 170. Runner-up was John • Purcell with 181. Nett winner was Andrew Murdie with 137. Runner up was Steve Gray with 140. Winner of the stableford round pm was Craig Doman with 42 points. Senior Mens winner of the gross was Paul Creedy, Waiouru with 155. Runnerup was Trevor Barnard, Wanganui with 158. Nett winner was Grant Fountain with 132. Runner-up was Andrew Condon with 1 34. Third was Alan Thomas, Taihape with 135. Stableford Barry Drinkwater. Two's were scored by Paul Creedy, 2; Trevor ?....; Carol Leary; Con Heinold; Wayne Marsh; Andrew Condon; S Burline; John Summerhays. The men's teams to contest the King Country Championships on 1-2 October at Taumarunui were named. A Team: Wayne Marsh, Gary Imhoff, Barry Drinkwater, Andrew Condon, Grant Fountain and Don Windle. B Team: Bryce Henry, John Purcell, Terry Geraghty, David Herewini, Neil Leitz, and Dana Blackburn. Reserves: Richard, Ken Crossan. Lucky number $ 1 90 was 142 - John Purcell - unfortunately he had left.
