Department for being friendly

In most organisations department names are often descriptive but perhaps lacking in imagination. Not so at Whakapapa which runs a "Ski Friendly Department". The department employs three staff who are responsible for skier education and trail maintenance. With more and more people taking to the slopes skier education is an important function, says RAL. It's the ski friendly department who will have a word or two for any skiers skiing dangerously. They also run tours of the facilities each day at Ilam: Skiers are shown some of the lesser-known corners of the resort. Three staff are available for the tours catering for skiers of mixed ability.
