Golden wedding celebrated

By

Norm and Eva Grossart celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at the Raetihi Rugby Football gym on Saturday evening 27 August. The actual date for the Golden Wedding was 31 August but as their daughter Alison was going on an overseas trip with her husband, Peter, it was decided to hold the celebration early. Father M Lloyd started the evening with grace. The evening was deemed a wonderful occasion, with their son David as master-of-cer-emonies and their daughter Alison as the hostess. A great crowd of relations attended, from as far afield as New Plymouth, Morrinsville and Auckland, with friends travelling from Mt Maunganui, Napier and Wanganui, as well as many of their local friends. All their grandchildren were present except for one grandson and a granddaughter who is living in England. Kelly Wilson, a great niece, sang several songs. She was accompanied by her father, Tom, on guitar. Kelly is a 1 4-year-old member of the Morrinsville Country and Westem Club and impressed all with her performance. Mr and Mrs Grossart said they really enjoyed the evening and Mrs Grossart said it was "hard to believe that 50 years have gone by."
