The New Zealand under fifteen championships start on 12 September and run until the 15th at Whakapapa. This is the first year the championships are being held and promote racing primarily for the 12-14 age group. At Turoa the race department has been busy coaching teams hopeful of competing in the second||Sk school skiing competition to be held from 19-25 September. The second in the Diet Pepsi Junior series of races will be held on 34 September. For snowboarders there is the Powderzone snowboard race on 17-18 September and the Turoa Triple Challenge on 8, 9 & 10 October. The Triple Challenge consists of three events, open to all snowboarders to a maximum of 150 entrants. The seniors in the T uroa race team travelled to the South Island recently to attend the FIS race series. Although no wins were earned, the team made good FIS results and points. The team will be travelling back to the South Island for the nationals to be held on 10 & 1 1 September.
