Many skiers are now choosing to stay in Ohakune because of the Apres Ski action and variety of accommodation, but that doesn't mean you are restricted to skiing at Turoa. Did you realise that it only takes 20 minutes longer to drive from downtown Ohakune to the carpark at Whakapapa as it
does to drive up to Turoa. Buy your ticket in Ohakune You can even purchase your lift tickets from selected outlets in Ohakune so you can go straight to the lifts at Whakapapa without waiting for tickets. Worth thinking about!
