• A bicycle was removed from outside a retail shop in Seddon Street, Raetihi, on Sunday 28 August. It was later recovered minus its wheels. • Police were disturbed by a recent incident involving a nine year old and a young friend riding a motor cycle, without helmets, on local roads over the weekend. • A large number of motorists were stopped over the weekend at various checkpoints set up around the district as a result of ajoint initiative by local Police. • Police attended an incident where two beer bottles were thrown through an upstairs window of a Raetihi residence. The missiles narrowly missed the occupants of an upstairs bed. Inquiries are continuing. • A bike was stolen from outside the Wellington Cafe in Seddon Street, Raetihi, on 28 August. PartS of the bike were later discovered at a local address. Inquiries are continuing. • Police are investigating the theft of a stereo from a car parked in Park Avenue, Ohakune during the early hours of Sunday morning. Extensive damage was caused to the dashboard of the vehicle. • Members of a visiting rugby team were involved in a number of antisocial incidents in the Ohakune Junction area on the weekend. Incidents included fighting in a public place, wilful damage and assault. As a result, one male, aged 22 years, was arrested. Two other males aged 21 and 22 years were warned for disorderly behaviour.

• A large amount of cash was taken from a handbag left in an Ohakune restaurant on Saturday 27 August. A visitor to the town left the bag containing in excess of $2000 cash in a local restaurant. The bag was later handed in to Police, minus the cash. • Police attended a domestic dispute in Raetihi during the early hours of Friday morning. As a result a 19-year-old male was arrested for intentional damage and possession of an offensive weapon. • A 35 year old Raetihi man was arrested after an unprovoked assault on a minor in Seddon Street, Raetihi, on Saturday 27 August.
