Waiouru board membership cut to six
Membership of the Waiouru Community Board is to be dropped from eight to six people. The board suggested the change following the council's invitation for Waiouru and Waimarino to consider amalgamating. While Waimarino was prepared to consider the matter, Waiouru was not. Instead they resolved to ask the council to consider the reduction in the number of members. In future, the two councillors plus four elected community board members will make up the body.
