Works schemes in Park

Six Task Force Green workers have been busy upgrading tracks and bridges in the Tongariro Forest. The '42 Traverse' mountain bike trail has received quite a bit of work including the cutting back of toitoi and overhanging branches in order to dry out the track. At the same time drainage work was completed.

Considerable repair work has been carried out on bridges in the area including the Waterfall, Ohinetonjga and Whakapapa bridges. In Ohakune the Task Force Tourism team has completed work on the first stage of the upgrading of the Lake Rotokura Track, laying down a new track and resurfacing existing tracks.
