The Foundation is now seeking applications for 1994-95 grants from talented folk under the age of 25 years, who need cash to progress further in their fields - sporting, vocational or the arts. Unfortunately grants cannot be given for tertiary education expenses except in special circumstances. Applications must reach the Foundation by Monday 29 August 1994. The position is an interesting and satisfying one, with opportunity to cover a wide range of news stories and develop skills in many aspects of community newspaper work. A high standard of English is essential, as is a genuine interest in the community and its people, a strong sense of fair play, and a good news nose.
