Ohakune Primary School trustees elected

The votes arein for the two new elected candidates for the Ohakune Primary School Board of Trustees. The successful candidates are Bruce Cranston (122) and John Anderson (90). Catherine Horne polled third (69). Just over half the number of eligible voters exercised their right, with only 54.13% voting recorded. Of that number, 6.6% were declared invalid for various reasons. Elected representative Bruce Cranston who has lived in Ohakune most of his life,

is an active member of several sports and community groups, as well as owning and operating his own business. "Through my business and my growing children I realise the increasing importance of education today", he said. Second representative John Anderson said he will help support the Board and staff in their efforts to do the best for the children who attend Ohakune Primary School. "I feel we have top teachers that need support and assistance where required, to make our school even stronger", he said.
