Noise complaints

• Could I though your paper ask some question of the police: What is the law pertaining to noise, in respect of levels and times? When can we as individuals complain? What is the law pertaining to licensed premises in respect of age and a person accompanying a person underage? In a situation that I saw who is in the wrong? Two parents who recently shifted away from this area brought into a li-

censed club a teenage child who was in the fourth form. When asked by staff whether that child was old enough they were told by the mother, yes he is 18. In this situation who is liable, if anyone? The family was well known to the staff, and they would have been aware of his age. Can we expect another ski season of unruly behaviour on our streets? It seems that in the busiest times there isn't police or traffic

control in sight. How many police are in our area now? Am I being unreasonable in wanting not to have a nervous breakdown dri ving through town? Can the public report bad behaviour such as parking on the wrong side of the street so others can't park properly and speeding around the residential area or would that not be acted upon? I look forward to a reply and might add that I wouldn't want your job. A resident.
