Open Tournament
The Ohakune Squash Club held it first open tournament over the weekend. Entries were high - 96 participants were accepted. Some others were balloted out. Sponsor for the night was DB Draught. Results were as follows: Men - Open Division: 1st, Rhys Powell; 2nd, Merv Tap; 3rd, Deryk Tankersley; 4th, Glen White; 5 th, W arwick Coile; 6th, Kole Cushei. Second Division: winner, Darryl O'Hara; runner-up, John Laurenson; plate winner, Shane Christie; consolation plate winner, Barry Klue; special plate winner, Nathan Swain; Third Division winner, Greg Brown; runnerup, Darren Triggell; plate winner, Jim Mollison; consolation plate winner, Wayne Marsh; special, Alister White. Fourth Division: winner, Dean Robinson; runner-up Jeff Duff; classic plate, Anthony Wheeler; plate winner, Peter Coogan; special plate, Kenneth Young; consolation plate winner, Andre Moore. 5th Division: winner, Brent Hamilton; run-ner-up, Peter Richards; classic plate, Jason Whale; plate winner, Nathan Klue; special plate winner, Trevor Morris; consolation plate winner, Paul Prendergast.
