Bank cuts won't affect Ohakune

Proposed redundancies by Trust Bank New Zealand Ltd during initiatives to improve customer services will not affect staff at Ohakune Trust Bank Central. A spokesperson for the company told the Bulletin that Trust Bank NZ's customer service and business efficiency will improve as a result of a programme of business initiatives. Also as a result, up to 400 positions may be affected in the reorgani sation, over the next 18 months. Redundancies however, will be confined to main branches and staff at the Ohakune branch will be unaffected. One of the initiatives includes grouping branches of each regional bank into areas, each managed by an Area Manager. The only difference customers will notice is that branch staff will be able to provide even better service as they will not be diverted by processing and administration tasks.
