Ski theft warning

Waimarino Police are urging skiers and snowboarders to take precautions with their gear. A spokesperson said with the start of the ski season there have already been a number of thefts of skis and snowboards reported, both on the slopes and from vehicles and houses. People are urged

to record the serial numbers of skis and boards with the number kept in a safe place. They are also reminded not to leave items locked in vehicles overnight, or on roof-racks. Whilst on the field locks should be used if available; if not available then skis should be placed separately.
