Yvonne Smith and Michelle Elgar are spearheading the formation of a ladies social/support group for partners of RNZEME (Royal New Zealand Electrical and Mechanical Engineers) in Waiouru. "It's not just because of Bosnia, that's just brought it to the fore," said Y vonne. Yvonne said the group would run along the same lines as the Queen Alexandra' s Mounted Rifles group. "What they're doing is really good," she said. Yvonne said she has had positi ve feedback from everybody about the idea. "I hope that continues." Major Tom Cook, Officer Commanding of the workshop, spoke to 37 ladies at a recent luncheon. The luncheon was arranged by the unit to inform wives and partners of their husbands' expected contributions to Bosnia and to discuss the formation of a ladies support group.
