Right light
£* What strange and perverse logic has seen two of Ohakune' s main north-south thoroughfares - Goldfinch Street and Miro Street - between the township and the Junction end up with a footpath on one side of the street and with the street lighting on the opposite side? Goldfinch Street has its footpath on the eastern side of the street while the lighting is on the west. Miro Street reverses that. Arawa Street has got it right with both lighting and footpath on the same side making it much more user friendly for pedestrians using these footpaths on long dark winter evenings. However, there are far fewer pedestrians using Arawa Street at night than either Goldfinch or Miro Streets.
