Sports clubs to take part in festival
Waimarino sports clubs are invited to participate in theproposed 1994 Ruapehu Invitation Sports Festival, from 1 September to 24 October. Coordinated by Promotion Taumarunui Incorporated (Pro Taum) and the Ruapehu District Council, the aims of the festival include increasing the number of visitors to the Ruapehu District and promoting the region as a sports and outdoor recreation destination, as well as improving the standard of spprt and sporting facilities within the district by promoting the festival as an annual event. The Ruapehu District Council intends to release a festival calendar next month that will contain specific information about events organised by participating local sports clubs.
