Bridge

There was a good turnout for Bridge last Wednesday night with 24 boards played over six tables. Before play commenced president Doug Bennett welcomed Johanita Venter to the club. Johanita had husband Renier sitting in with her while learning how to play. Johanita was partnered by Tracey Ennis who is back after a long absence. Ron Martin and Heather Cranston were way out ahead of the opposition, winning the north-south competitionby 58.05%. Second were John and Sandra Eades on 55.56% and taking third place on 5 1 .94% were Mark Hays and Bob Tumataroa. The top place in the eastwest direction went to Ron Frew and Brian Eades on 65.13% and back in second place on 58.0% were Doug and Tephany Bennett. Jim Cranston teamed up with Jenny Mottram and took out third place in the east-west direction with 52.93%.
