Blue Light gets green light

Plans are underway to stage a series of Blue Light Discos for Waimarino youth. Coordinator, Raetihi' s Constable Steve Hart, said the first is scheduled for the end of the month, to be held at the Raetihi Primary School. A bus will be run for Ohakune Primary School children who want

to attend. Constable Hart said he plans to hold the discos bimonthly, alternating between Ohakune and Raetihi. The discos for primary school-aged children will be followed by a separate one catering for those of college age. As well as being highly supervised, Blue Light Dis-

cos operate with some simple rules. These include no smoking, drinking or offensive language. Sticking to these rules ensures that everyone in attendance has a good time and also ensures the continuation of the programme, said Constable Hart. Other incentives include door prizes and competitions.
