Clayton Bishop (left) caught his big-gest-ever eel just after the Waimarino Easter Hunt, with help from his friends Robert and Aroha Te Huia. The eel weighedjust over eight kilograms (18 pounds) and was caught in the creek by the Ohakune Club. Aroha holds the spear that Clayton used to hook the eel which broke under the strain of hauling it out of the creek.
