Bridge

Bridge on Wednesday 23 March consisted of 20 boards played over five tables. First place in the north-south competition went to Lauretta Eades and Pauline Le Noel with a score of 55.30%. Ron Frew and Brian Eades who were first before handicapping finished in second place on 53.05% and in third place on 51.28% were Rita Kaiwhare and Betty Hammond. Ron Martin and Heather Cranston had no opposi- . tion in the east-west direction finishing well ahead of everyone on 73.50%. Best of the rest were Gordon and Jenny Mottram on 5 1 .60% and in third place were the Bennetts on 5 1 . 1 3%. Bridge lessons are starting this week and anyone interested should ring Brian Eades before Thursday.
