Play on Wednesday 2 March was preceded by the Ohakune Bridge Club' s AGM Resigning president Jenny Mottram reported on a very successful 1993-94 year, wished the incoming committee equal success and welcomed newlyelected president Doug Bennett to the chair. Doug' s committee for 1994 is comprised of Betty Hammond secretary/treasurer, Rita Kaiwhare director, Sarah Hamlin social secretary, Bob Tumataroa scorer, Pauline Le Noel in charge of refreshments and the following people serving as ordinary committee members: Tracy Ennis, Tephany Bennett and Jenny Mottram. After the AGM 1 5 boards were played over three tables. The north-south competition was easily won by 'The Two Ronnies' on 63.54% while 'The Mottrams' were promoted to second place with 44.30%. First place in the eastwest competition went to president Doug and Tephany Bennett with 63.98% and in second place on 50.80% were Betty Hammond and Pauline Le Noel. Anyone interested in learning to play bridge can call one of the following to arrange lessons: Ron Martin 385-8531, John Eades 385-8570 or Brian Eades 385-8119. Mark Hays and Bob Tumataroa have already expressed a need to attend.
