POLICE FILE

Ohakune residents who have in their possession a New World shopping trolley, be warned - return it or be fined. This message comes from the Ohakune Police following the recovery of a trolley from an Ohakune address last week. A charge of theft is expected to be layed, pending completion of the current line of enquiry. The supermarket currently has 62 trolleys in use which at $500 a piece, represents a substantial investment by New World owner Alan Murdie. Mr Murdie said in previous years trolleys have been recovered after being used for such purposes as wood baskets and laundry hampers.
