• Ohakune Club Last Friday's membership draw of $160 was struck by C. Mott. The second and third draw were struck by Gordon Pepere and Tony Cranston, but unfortunately neither of them were jn the club to claim their prizes. Members privilege cards were introduced last Friday. These cards can be bought by financial members at a cost of $12. The innovation has already proved immensely popular with members as it allows them to obtain large handles of tap beer for $2. Sunday opening hours are now 4-8pm during daylight saving. Members will be advised of any changes. Microwave meals are now available at the club, with meals being purchased from the bar. • Raetihi Cosmopolitan Club Last Friday's membership jackpot draw of $100 was won by Mick McCullough. The second draw of $50 was not struck as Cyril Wise was not in the club. The club picnic was held on Sunday at Pipiriki. A social is to be held on Saturday 26 February, kicking off at 8pm. The band for the evening will be Taupo band Alesys. Members may attend free of charge, with bona fide guests paying $5. • Waimarino Club Last Friday ' s membership draw of $ 1 70 was missed by Tom Punch and the second draw of $180 was missed by Mr R. Punch, as neither member was in the club. This week's draw will start at $190. Darts have begun again after a break over Christmas. Happy Hour is being held this Friday at 6pm. A social evening with the Ulysses Motorbike Club is to be held on Saturday 19 February. Money raised will be donated to the Waimarino Rest Home trust. Music will be provided by Ricky's Disco and Karaoke. • Bowls The Cochrane Plate was played for on Saturday 5 February between the Raetihi and Ohakune Bowling Clubs at the Raetihi green. This is the first time that this trophy has been played for since 1976. The plate is now being played for between Raetihi and Ohakune and it is hoped that competition will continue twice a year in future. This year' s players were: (Raetihi) Jim Weir (skip), Eric Pasquill (3), Pauline LeNoel (2) and Diane Martin (lead). Ohakune: Wai Brown (skip), Harry Sutton (3), Ray Hall (2) and Ngaire Burrows (lead). , Raetihi took the trophy with a score of 28-15. The plate was presented by Mrs Bernice Cochrane who was the guest of honour for the afternoon.
