• Between 29 December 1993 and 3 January 1994 a shed and garage at the rear of 20 Wakefield Street, Waiouru, was entered and a Black and Decker weed eater and set of golf clubs was taken. • On the night of 2 January an Avanti Mountain bike was taken from a house at 37 Weir Terrace, Waiouru. The bike was later recovered behind the Weir Terrace doctor's surgery minus it's Shimano gears. • On the night of 3 J anu - ary a house at Rangiwaea Junction was entered and food and household electrical goods were taken. The next night six bales of wool were stolen from a

woolshed at Irirangi. Police believe that these two burglaries may be connected. • At 10.15am on 14 January a wallet was taken from the changing rooms at the Waiouru Military Gymnasium. • After 1 1pm on Friday 22 January two cars were broken into at Weir Terrace, Waiouru. The offenders smashed quarter-light windows on both cars and took petrol, money and book vouchers. • At 1.20am on 1 January the occupants at 1 A Thornton Terrace, Waiouru, were woken by someone trying the doors to the house. The male gained entry to the house

and was trying the bedroom doors when he was confronted by the occupants. On being confronted he fled out the front door. The intruder was described as a male Caucasian, aged in his late 20's to early 30's, six feet tall, short hair, thin moustache, thin build, wearing adarkjacket, check shirt and jeans. Due to the fact that the night was New Y ear's Eve the intruder may have gone home to the wrong house. Police would like to speak to this person to clear the matter up. • If you have any information about any of the abo ve offences or any other offences, the police would like to hear from you.
