Rave review for childcare

The commitment of Waiouru Childcare Centre Supervisor Julia Martin was recognised in a glowing report by the Education Review Office after a recent audit of the centre. Highlights of the report included favourable comments about the centre' s positive learning environment and the commitment of staff and management to making the centre stimulating and attractive to its children.

The report was particularly welcome after the centre' s recent period of financial woes when the present committee inherited a multitude of debt associated with past building renovation costs. In the past 1 2 months staff and management, led by Mrs Martin, managed to cut costs while not compromising the quality of care provided the children attending the centre, according to the report.
