Ohakune pools to be heated
Ohakune' s swimming baths will be heated this summer, the Ohakune swimming club has been told by the council. There was a good turnout at the club's A.G.M. with many apologies received, where they discussed the use of the pool now it is to be heated. With the standing down of the club' s president, secretary, and treasurer, nominations were opened. There were taker no takers for the
president' sjob but the club welcomes Robyn Hodder as the new treasurer and secretary. The committee formed is: Chris & Sheryl Bradley, Shiree Pay, Sue Laurenson, Wendy Y oung, Trinette Mott, Christine Treweek, Jocelyn Cranston, Donnella Hawira, Aileen Taylor. The club's opening day willbe Saturday 1 1 December 10am, providing the pools are operation. All those enroled or still
wish to are asked to be there. Swimming club hours will be Saturday and Sunday 10am- Ilam and Wednesday nights 6pm-7pm for advanced swimmers. Parents are encouraged to stay and join in if they
wish. The club has some trained coaches but most are just helpers so people who have anything of offer are asked to along. Subs have been set at $ 1 0 per family for the season. Club representative
Jocelyn Cranston said the council was now charging the club $ 1 1 per hour to use the pool. She said anyone could hire the pool (for example people wanting to train) from the council on that hourly basis.
