Ohakune women bowlers in finals

A team fielded by the Ohakune Women's Bowling Club performed with distinction at the recent Bell Tea Open Fours Competition in Wanganui. Sixty-two teams from the Wanganui district took part in the four day competition. The Ohakune team consisting of Ngaire Burrows (lead), Wai Brown (2), Robyn Scarrow (3) and-Vi Brown (skip) won all six of their section play games, needing only four wins to qualify for the post section play-off. The team went on to win their first three games, then conceded to Waverley, 19-12, giving them a third equal placing. A team consisting of June Foster, Vi Brown, Ngaire Burrows and Robyn Scarrow represent the region at the Ladies Charter Club tournament in Tauranga this week.
